How to get to Albergue El Socorro
The Posada Rural Albergue El Socorro is located in the community of Virgen del Socorro in San Miguel de Sarapiquí, in the middle of a private reserve with 175 hectares of forest, between Poás Volcano National Park and Braulio Carrillo National Park.
How to get there by bus from San José:
Take the bus at Los Caribeños bus station (phone 2222-0610) to San Miguel Sarapiquí. In San Miguel you have to take taxi transportation or call us (Albergue El Socorro: 8820-2160) and we can pick you up.
How to get there
From San José via Braulio Carrillo: 2:30 hours
- Take the Braulio Carrillo highway to the junction for Puerto Viejo, turn left and head for Puerto Viejo.
- Continue on to San Miguel de Sarapiquí.
- At the cemetery San Miguel, take the road on the left; this street has curves but it is paved.
- Continue on, always keeping to the right for 9 kilometers to the intersection for Cariblanco.
- Turn left and go one kilometer to Posada Rural Albergue El Socorro.
From San José via Vara Blanca: 2:30 hours
- Take the highway toward Heredia.
- Once in Heredia, look for the road to Poasito.
- When you reach Poasito, take the highway to Vara Blanca.
- Continue on to San Miguel de Sarapiquí.
- At the cemetery San Miguel, take the road on the right; this street has curves but it is paved.
- Continue on, always keeping to the right for 9 kilometers to the intersection for Cariblanco.
- Turn left and go one kilometer to Posada Rural Albergue El Socorro.
From La Fortuna: 2 hours
- Take the route to Muelle.
- From Muelle find the highway to Aguas Zarcas and go to San Miguel de Sarapiquí.
From Caño Negro: 4 hours
- Take the main exit from Caño Negro and take the highway to Muelle.
- From Muelle find the highway to Aguas Zarcas and go to San Miguel de Sarapiquí.
