Our posada

A paradise in mid-mountain

Posada Rural Albergue El Socorro is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from San José, in the community of Virgen del Socorro, San Miguel de Sarapiquí. It has 175 hectares of private forest reserve between Poás Volcano National Park and Braulio Carrillo National Park.

“Its main natural attraction is the 175-hectare private forest reserve that includes several waterfalls, complemented by activities offered around the farm such as recreational hikes, bird watching and milking cows, an activity that children love!”

The site is at elevations of 3117 to 3937 feet above sea level (950 to 1200 masl). The reserve is a very important part of the Sarapiquí River Basin and a biological corridor with more than 618 acres (250 hectares) of primary forest. It contains trees of huge size and a large number of small rivers or streams that descend the mountain in beautiful waterfalls with a wide variety of plants and animals.

It is an excellent place for scientific research, bird watching, education or just relaxing.
